I grew up in Beaverton, Oregon where I graduated from Sunset High School and lettered on the varsity basketball team. I graduated from Oregon State University with cum laude honors, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. My Business Administration degree emphasized International Business and Marketing, with a minor in German and Economics.
I married my college sweetheart, the woman of my dreams. My wife and I have been married for over 30 years (hard to tell because of how young we look!). We have one son, who graduated from Crosspoint Christian School (formerly, Hosanna Christian School) in Klamath Falls and is a crew chief in the United States Air Force. My wife, who grew up in Klamath County, and I returned to live in Klamath County in 2001 to raise our son. Before I joined the legislature we were small business owners. We currently enjoy the simple life of country living on our small farm.
Life in South & Central Oregon
Gin & I attend Calvary Chapel Church in Klamath Falls. I served for over three years on the Klamath County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. For nearly 20 years I owned and operated a web development company. Before that I worked in management, marketing and customer support, for three Fortune 500 companies in Portland (Xerox, Tektronix and Georgia-Pacific).
It is my honor to be serving my fourth in the State Legislature. House District 55 encompasses the eastern edge of Bend, Sunriver, Deschutes River Woods, La Pine, Chemult, Chiloquin, Suburbs of Klamath Falls, Merrill, Malin, Bonanza, Dairy, Sprague River Beatty, Bly and everywhere in between.
As a small business owner, and as a legislator, I have seen first hand the negative impact of increased taxes, new fees and additional mandates. I understand in order to thrive, businesses must keep costs to a minimum. I understand for families to do well, they need to keep more of what they earn. Unfortunately our State government continues to add undue burdens to all businesses, especially the small and rural ones, in Oregon.
